Making continued investment to improve Capacity, Lead-times and Quality of Service

The last couple of months have seen lots of new investment take place at Rotherham based Steel Supplier Corrosion Resistant Materials.

Firstly, in January the company took ownership of the adjoining unit to increase space. This additional space it is hoped will allow the company hold more dedicated stocks for its customers to improve service and speed of delivery.

At the same time, the company also employed another warehouse operative, Ashley Deakin, to help process its increased order levels and to maintain its impressive delivery performance.

February saw the installation of new bar racking to hold 500 tonnes more stock and a new saw which now allows the company to cut up to 520mm dia bars in house quickly.

March saw further investment still in the creation of a new reception, warehouse signage and a new boardroom which will all help support the continued growth of Corrosion Resistant Materials and facilitate more on-site meetings with its current customers and suppliers.

April will also see further investment with the addition of a new External Sales Manager, Paul Berry. Paul comes with many years’ experience in supporting supply chains with their material requirements in Aerospace, Defence, Power Generation and Oil and Gas.

The company currently holds approx. 60 different grades of materials ranging from Carbon, Alloy Steel, Titanium, Stainless, Nickel, Duplex and Super Duplex in Bars, Forgings, Rings, Flanges, Fittings, Pipes, Tubes, Plates and Sheet. Most of its stock is specially manufactured to end user specifications and undergoes additional Heat Treatment, Processing and Testing.

On the new investment, Commercial Manager Adam Bradley states:-

‘The last couple of months have been really exciting for everyone involved at CRM. The new investment will help us keep more dedicated stock to better support our customers and their supply chains.

The company has seen a dramatic rise in its customer base and sales over the past 12 months and it is pleasing to see that the owners Lee and Chris are happy to invest in the right areas to make sure that we become one of the best material suppliers in the industry.’

‘I am extremally pleased to welcome Ashley and Paul to our team and I trust that their appointments will further help propel CRM further and allow us to work within industry areas previously untouched.’

‘If anyone would like to come and see at first hand our facility and discuss how the team at CRM can help support their material purchasing, then it would be our pleasure to welcome them and give the ‘guided tour.’
