Neles UK (Part of Valmet) Appoints New Area Sales Manager

In April 2022, Neles and Valmet merged, and Neles is now Valmet’s Flow Control Business Line.

Rosie Ismail recently joined as their Area Sales Manager for the North East of England region, and in this article Rosie explains more about her career, experience and what she brings to her new role:

“I had about 8 years sales experience in the valve industry before joining Valmet, serving clients mainly from Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Korea and Italy. My career path actually took an interesting change - from a psychology lecturer to selling valves for a living. However, I have found that the latter brings more personal satisfaction because what I learned during my tertiary education can be mostly applied to my daily working life.  For example, in terms of interaction with clients, suppliers and colleagues.

I started as a sales executive and worked my way up through observations and exposure to different customers and various projects. My extensive involvements in oil and gas, power and petrochemical projects from FEED up to pre-commissioning stage, as well as participation in the aftermarket, maintenance and shutdown works have been valuable in developing my skills and confidence to handle demanding situations but, most importantly, I enjoy doing what I do.

I believe hiring women to join the sales workforce will give a valve company a competitive edge. Not only does it advocate diversity and inclusion in the workplace, which is such a growing trend, but it is a breath of fresh air for everyone, a refreshing change to this male-dominated industry. I believe that if you have the spirit to step out of your comfort zone and are a person who loves adventure, teamwork and problem-solving, this is an exciting career for you regardless of who you are!

I am so thankful and proud to be a Valmeteer and looking forward to becoming an expert in Neles valve and automation products. I hope to be a great asset to the company and an asset to my UK customers.”
