BVAA Spring Conference 2019

If you weren’t there, you missed arguably the best BVAA Spring Conference line up we’ve had in some years!

Papers delivered covered topics as diverse as the Apprenticeship Levy delivered by Chris Selby of Cquence Consulting, (did you know you can benefit hugely irrespective if you’re paying the levy or not?), two highly informative papers on Internet of Things/ Condition Monitoring from our own BVAA members Mike Devrell (Rotork) and Paul Turner (Imtex), and a paper on Business Development for the process sector (a surprisingly large and buoyant market we were advised), by Debbie Broun of Protel.

After lunch we had an update on BVAA’s Business Development Activities (inc a short session on building a winning company culture) from Zoedale’s Tim Guest, an update on Brexit and the unholy row (in potentia) looming on Rules of Origin by Mark Norris and Amy Brooks of BEIS, plus our usual Global Market Forecast from Jeremy Leonard of Oxford Economics and the Oil & Gas Tracker by Matt Loffman of Westwood Energy.

We rounded the day off with a paper on the free help available through Local Growth Hubs by Lisa Ashby-Dowling of Liverpool LEP.

That’s a pretty hefty and comprehensive programme for a relatively small industry sector! You also missed a cracking dinner and a very lively comedian! All papers delivered (where available) are downloadable from the Members Only section of the BVAA website.
