Hot Spot New API Task Group- Hydrogen Valves

Published: 17th August 2022 | Issue 77 Share article:

What is it?

API have started work on a new document API 6Z Standard for Valves in Hydrogen Gas (H2) Service at Normal Temperature. The BVAA will be involved in the task group who are writing the standard, this will allow us to keep members informed of progress. However, if any members would like to be directly involved in the API task group please let the BVAA secretariat know by 2nd September 2022.

Why is it Important?

The work on API 6Z has been approved in recognition of the importance of correctly specified valves to the developing hydrogen energy technologies. It also serves to emphasise the continuing investment in this technology that is been made by API members.

The BVAA Hydrogen TEG will shadow this work and so members will be able to review the draft specification and influence its development via continued membership of this group. However, this is also an opportunity for BVAA members to be involved directly in the task group and participate with other API members if desired.
