Last December saw the delivery of a new CNC machining centre at BiS Valves’ component manufacturing facility. The Doosan Mynx 5400 is a vertical machining centre with an integrated 4th axis, and will be a versatile addition to in-house manifold machining capacity.

Recent months have seen exceptional demand for bespoke manifold solutions. Custom designed to fit perfectly into the application, manifolds allow multiple valves to be installed into a single compact assembly that matches a specific customer requirement.

Laurence Card, Engineering Manager, explained, ‘assembling a system with multiple valves connected together with tube and fittings takes an enormous amount of space, a lot of assembly time, and gives rise to a potential leakage point at every joint. As well as being faster to assemble and far more compact, one of the major advantages of combining valves into a manifold assembly is the serviceability. Once the manifold is installed, replacing or servicing a valve does not require the pipework to be disturbed, which is often a prime cause of introducing leaks into a system.’

‘The engineering team have many years experience designing manifolds, and always work closely with the customer to ensure that our solution is cost effective and suits the system layout perfectly,’ added Laurence.
