API Std 607 Fire Test for Quarter-turn Valves and Valves Equipped with Nonmetallic Seats
In an earlier Hot Spot I reported on a discussion/proposal made within an API 6D Task Group meeting that consideration be given to the revision of API 6FA/6FD to be in line with API 607 with respect to metallic materials.
Following questions on this issue at the BVAA Valve WG meeting last week I have asked the API 6D Convenor for an update on any developments with regard to this possible revision – see below:
It seems that this issue is still live but awaiting revisit by the API Task Group.
I will continue to monitor and report on any progress.
