BVAA: Future Leaders Reunion
On 23rd February 2021, delegates from all four Cohorts of the BVAA Future Leaders Programme came together for a reunion event via Zoom.
Led as always by Dr Martin Haigh MBE, the session featured some insights into how the COVID-19 crisis had affected team members and how they had utilized the time at home to best effect.
This was followed by a Team Working exercise, with team captains coordinating smaller groups in break-out rooms – the sense of energy and the concentration was palpable as the teams tried to work out Martin’s tricky clues.
In the end, Nikunj’s team of himself, Ali Watson, Matt Raine and Matt Knapton solved the riddle first, in 31 minutes, with the others coming in closely behind. The winning team of will of course receive a team prize.
The Wheel of Fortune prize winners were Adrian Ciechanowski, Matt Raine and Nathan Coope who all received personal development books.
The final activity was drawing – and later explaining - a picture of what success meant for each member. While the artwork might not have excited the critics, the messages they contained were all very poignant and thoughtful. We also enjoyed a few drinks and reminiscences after.
BVAA has agreed to organize another session in three months’ time, with different activities, and a reunion walking event in the Yorkshire Dales is also on the cards.
BVAA would like to extend its thanks to delegates, their employers, and of course to Dr Haigh for making the session such a success.
