As economies around the world begin to open, and we see the light at the end of the COVID tunnel, specialist Nickel Alloy stockist Maher continues to invest in stock material to supply our customers at home and abroad. One of the key grades we stock in our Sheffield facility is Alloy 625.

Alloy 625 is a nickel-chromium alloy, which gains its stiffening effect through molybdenum and niobium additions, therefore eliminating the need for this alloy to be aged. It has superior resistance to a wide range of corrosive environments as well as the high temperature effects of oxidation and carburisation 625 is excellent for sea-water applications, having freedom from pitting and crevice corrosion, high corrosion fatigue strength and resistance to chloride-ion stress corrosion cracking. This alloy also has high tensile, creep and rupture strength, fatigue and thermal fatigue strength and oxidation resistance.

Typical applications in the oil & gas industry are fasteners, seals, and many valve parts where corrosion resistance is required.  As well as being used for propeller blades, turbine shroud rings, exhaust systems and ducting in the aerospace industry.

Our stock range covers popular sizes, starting at small fastener & stem diameters through to larger pump shaft sizes, with fully traceable mill certification to BS EN10204/3.1 (upgradable to BS EN10204/3.2 on request). Primarily stocked in machined round bar, Maher also has considerable experience converting this material to rings, blocks, ground bar and other shapes through our own machine shop & network of approved subcontractors.

Maher’s 625 material is produced to meet international standards such as ASTM B164, BS3076, AMS 5666 and NACE MR0175/ISO15156, as well as a range of customer and OEM specifications as required.

We have onsite PCN and SNT Level II Inspectors if additional ultrasonic testing is required to meet customer requirements.

Please contact your usual account manager or sales@maher.com for any enquiries you may have for Alloy 625 or other Nickel & Copper Alloy material grades.
