BVAA Hot Spot - Do We Use ISO 7121:2016 Steel Ball Valves

Published: 1st July 2021 | Issue 64 Share article:

What is it?

BS ISO 7121:2016 Steel Ball Valves for general purpose industrial applications is now out for systematic review and BSI is currently inviting comments regarding its use in the UK industry.

The BVAA requests input from members to advise if they use, supply or manufacture ball valves to this standard. We need to understand the extent to which it is used so that we can respond appropriately to the systematic review. We would be grateful if members who use ISO 7121 contact the secretariat and advise which products they manufacture to the standard and if there are any particular aspects of the standard that they would like to see changed. Please reply to the secretariat by 2-7-21.

Why is it Important?

BVAA will incorporate any comments received into their response to BSI as part of the systematic review process.

If the responses received indicate a significant level of usage in the UK market, but that no aspects of BS ISO 7121:2016 require change, then the BVAA will propose that BSI vote to confirm without any amendments. Consequently, if this is a standard that your business uses, and you would like to see it developed further please respond to this Hot Spot as indicated.

Continuous Improvement
