Fluid Power & Systems 2022
Get ready!
Since its first outing in 2014, Fluid Power & Systems has established itself as the only event in the UK that is focused comprehensively on hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, along with products that facilitate better electro-mechanic system design and application.
Rob Bartlett: “Fluid power control and actuation play a vital part in the control of process flow equipment.”
This April sees the return of a much-loved UK manufacturing event, comprising a suite of highly complementary co-located exhibitions. Organised by DFA Manufacturing Media, these shows – Fluid Power & Systems, Air-Tech, Drives & Controls, Plant & Asset Management and Smart Industry Expo – will take place at the NEC, Birmingham from 5 to 7 April.
These 5 exhibitions showcase the best of British manufacturing and engineering excellence with regular visitor attendance of over 13,500. These co-located events will also be staged alongside MACH, expected to bring over 40,000 visitors to the NEC over a single week. The co-located shows are being held in association with ourselves the British Valve & Actuator Association (BVAA), plus the British Compressed Air Society (BCAS), the British Fluid Power Association (BFPA), GAMBICA, the Association of Electrical and Mechanical Trades (AEMT), the Construction Equipment Association (CEA), the British Automation & Robot Association (BARA), PI (Profibus, Profinet) and the European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA).
Since its first outing in 2014, Fluid Power & Systems has established itself as the only event in the UK that is focused comprehensively on hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, along with products that facilitate better electro-mechanic system design and application for improved process automation, control, monitoring and analytics. The show offers the largest gathering of leading companies from around the world displaying and demonstrating the latest innovations in mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment. Whatever your industrial sector, whether engineering, construction, offshore/marine, oil & gas, agriculture/farming, automotive, aerospace etc, Fluid Power & Systems – with free entry for visitors – offers a convenient one-stop shop for all your fluid power and system requirements.
Digitalisation and Engineering Forums
Located at the heart of the 2022 co-location will be The Digitalisation and Engineering Forums. With a strong emphasis on technology, the Engineering Forum will bring together all aspects of hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics and automation, plant and asset management, energy efficiency, machine safety, drives, motion control, legislation, system strategies and technological developments. Featuring representatives from across industry including government agencies, research bodies, trade associations, and manufacturers. The Digitalisation Forum, sponsored by Pilz, will fully reflect the ongoing global transformation to the smart manufacturing era and provide a fascinating insight into the potential plants of the future, covering all aspect of the digital transformation across the manufacturing spectrum. Leading experts will address the vast array of information around 4IR, discussing the practicalities, technologies and issues surrounding transition and implementation of digitalisation in UK manufacturing.
The Talking Industry Live
The wide range of topical panel discussions of the popular Talking Industry webinar events will move temporarily from the digital sphere to live panel discussions at the NEC under the Talking Industry Live brand for three days during the co-located shows. In addition, as part of the MTC’s significant presence at the co-location of events, the manufacturing organisation will lead the discussion on the changing manufacturing landscape, including the challenges and opportunities that will help provide practical steps, which manufacturers can take on the journey to embrace digitalisation in the post COVID-19 era.
BVAA
Among the list of exhibitors at this year’s event is the British Valve & Actuator Association (BVAA). The Association will introduce visitors to its many members comprising suppliers, users and customers of the fluid power industry and its products. The BVAA will also be advising visitors of the many products and services available from membership, as well as being on hand to explain the myriad benefits available from a dynamic association that can network, connect and co-operate at all levels. Industrial process valves and their application can be highly complex, so the BVAA will also be advising on the wide range of technical courses available from the Association, including a new short course on UKCA Marking, as well connecting enquirers with sources of additional technical expertise.
Unique and complex role
The BVAA’s CEO, Rob Bartlett, says: “Our rationale for exhibiting at Fluid Power & Systems is a simple one, as we have a unique yet complex role in the fluid power industry. We are in many cases suppliers to the industry. We are also extensive users of the media, and of course major customers too, as fluid power control and actuation play a vital part in the control of process flow equipment.
“BVAA itself has guided our members through the twin crises of Brexit and COVID-19, and the erratic and variable marketplace that both have engendered. But the industry has evolved and innovated in the meantime nonetheless, with new and exciting products coming to the fore, particularly in the field of preventing fugitive emissions and new and more efficient ways of valve operation, not to mention significant cost-savings from predictive and preventative maintenance regimes.
“What the next year has in hold for us all is pretty hard to predict with the pandemic still making its ugly presence felt, but already we see confidence levels rising and there’s a real desire in the industry to get cracking now on whatever the next challenges might be. One thing is for certain, closer co-operation is going to be essential to ensure we all rise together, stronger together.”
Biggest event to date
DFA Manufacturing Media’s managing director, Ryan Fuller, comments: “Following the formidable challenges we have all had to face over the past two years, we are more than ever looking forward to staging what promises to be our biggest co-located event yet, with more exhibitors and more extensive floor space than ever before. We are also delighted to launch our brand-new Digitalisation and Engineering Forums at this year’s shows. The industry niches these exhibitions represent are rapidly evolving technologically, and this event will provide visitors with the ideal opportunity to learn more about these recent developments and how they could potentially prove to be of major value and benefit to their businesses. We very much look forward to welcoming both our exhibitors and visitors to the industry’s main event this April.”
