BVAA Future Leaders Programme
June Session - Cohort 5
A few months into the BVAA Future Leaders Programme and we are really getting into the meatier topics. The recent June sessions however were truly exceptional.
Day 1 was hosted by BVAA members PDL, who gave delegates an excellent introduction into the world of CFD, FEA and related topics. Not all our delegates are engineers, and it is great to see the moment when realisation dawns and the delegates come to truly understand the potential that these amazing engineering tools present in providing confidence in designs, and in identifying any problems before cutting metal.
Day 2 was one of our favourite topics in the personal development programme devised by Dr Martin Haigh MBE of Lattitude7, namely Emotionally Intelligent Leadership. This the moment where we identify the traits of a good leader, the differences between managers and leaders, and focus on improving emotionally intelligent leadership skills.
There will be a summer break now and then just a few more sessions until the presentation to the members at the BVAA AGM.
This does mean of course our minds at the Secretariat naturally turn to recruiting a 6th Cohort. If you think you have a potential delegate, contact rob@bvaa.org.uk or ask for our special FLP Leaflet.
