This year’s Annual Meetings and Gala Ball is taking place 18 November at Carden Park, Cheshire. This five-star hotel set in a 1,000-acre estate, boasts two championship golf courses, luxury spa facilities and dining by an award-winning head chef.
We have exclusive use of the fabulous Carden Suite, giving members ample opportunity to invite industry guests and colleagues. The daytime activities include keynote speakers, desktop exhibitions and a buffet lunch, before guests enjoy a sparkling champagne reception, a flutter at the casino, a three-course sumptuous dinner and dance the night away with live entertainment...
A feature of BVAA’s Annual Meetings is the morning keynote speaker session, and this year we’ve packed them in!
Keynote Speakers at this year’s AGM
Valve Market Forecast
Kicking off will be Jeremy Leonard, Managing Director of Global Industry Services: Oxford Economics. Jeremy will be delivering his assessment on the findings of the brand new and eagerly awaited Oxford Economics/BVAA Global Valve Market Outlook, and as always adding his insights on the general – and rather volatile - economic situation!
Tax Incentives
Next up, is the team from RCK Partners on Tax Incentives. There’s more than one way to optimise business position, and RCK are experts in R&D Tax Credits and Tax Allowances, specialising in securing valuable tax incentives for Engineering and Manufacturing companies. This session will discuss areas that members may not know constitute as R&D under HMRC’s legislation and how to take advantage of them. RCK will also be discussing the nuances that may have been overlooked and the ways in which a claim is put together.
Andragogy
Next up is our own Dr Martin Haigh MBE. Martin leads the BVAA Future Leaders Programme and will be discussing “How Andragogy supports a return on your training investment.” This interactive talk will give a global perspective on the importance of culture, leadership and learning and development (L&D). It will seek the views of the valve sector on why L&D should be in every organisation that hopes to attract and retain a skilled workforce in a competitive market and how embracing L&D accelerates skills development, but also dramatically improves employee engagement and retention.
Future Leaders Programme
Finally, we will be hearing from Cohort 5 of the BVAA Future Leaders Programme. Arguably our strongest group yet, Cohort 5 will be talking about their experiences and learnings from the 2022 Future Leaders Programme. Giving the association an insight into the topics they have covered and how their learnings have impacted and improved their way of navigating leadership.
