This popular event is an excellent opportunity to network with fellow BVAA members, keep up-to-date with industry relevant speakers and enjoy an evening of food and entertainment in the beautiful surroundings of Formby Hall.

Wednesday 17 May - Spring Conference

The day starts with an exhibition, giving plenty of scope for networking, our conference, followed by pre-dinner drinks, and enjoying a delicious dinner and evening entertainment (watch this space!)

Spring Conference Speakers

Each year, the BVAA organises a full programme of topical, industry-related presentations by keynote speakers. We can now reveal our first speaker, and will be announcing further speakers over the next couple of weeks…

First Speakers Announced!

Speaker: Nigel Goodrich, from NAMRC

Topic: Fit for Hydrogen and Fit for Carbon Capture.

About Nigel: Nigel is responsible for engaging with manufacturing companies, assessing their readiness to win work in the nuclear offshore renewables, and hydrogen and carbon capture, usage and storage sectors, and supporting and mentoring them through their Fit for journey. Nigel focuses on companies in Cumbria, Northumberland, and North Yorkshire.

Nigel has previously worked as an advisor with the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) and has previous experience working in the automotive sector (OEM) and running his own consultancy business.

Speaker: Jaipyo Lee – Growth Hub (Innovation) Development Manager

Topic: Use of Additive Manufacturing in Control Valve Applications by IMI Critical Engineering. Overview of additive manufacturing technologies and use cases in control valves.

About Jaipyo: With over a decade’s experience in sales and product development spanning several continents, Jaipyo Lee plays a key role in the continued running of IMI plc’s innovation engine – known as Growth Hub – specifically for the IMI Critical Engineering division. He holds a Masters of Science (M.Sc.) and Financial Engineering from ISAE-SUPAERO, the Toulouse-based world-leading education centre for aerospace engineering.
 
His work involves assisting in the incubation and accelerated growth of solutions developed by IMI Critical Engineering to address problems afflicting the critical engineering industry. Specifically, Jaipyo assists in identifying customer problems and then drawing on the engineering talent and experience from across the IMI organisation to deliver new technologies, including valve and electrolyser solutions.


 

Thursday 18 May - Golf Day

The Golf Day is a fantastic opportunity to challenge yourself, and rivals, on the Par-72 Championship Old Course, boasting excellent pedigree and an established venue for European Seniors Tours, European Challenge Tours, and the PGA Euro Pro Tour.
