The Fifth International Industrial Valve Summit, IVS 2024, is Announced

The IVS organisers, Confindustria Bergamo and Promoberg, have raised the curtain on the fifth edition of the Industrial Valve Summit, the important international event dedicated to industrial valves and flow control solutions, scheduled to take place in Bergamo (Italy) on 15th and 16th May 2024.
This is an important milestone for IVS, as it anticipates the tenth anniversary of the first edition of the Summit. In view of 2024, the organisers are enriching the offer of events and opportunities for networking by creating a true valve week, continuing along the event's growth path. Starting on 14th May with the opening ceremony, followed by the opening of the pavilions reserved to exhibitors, the event will offer a valuable opportunity for the players in the supply chain to meet and discuss at IVS. The event will get into full swing on 15th and 16th May with the halls opening the doors to the international public, with hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of specialist operators. In 2022, the Summit welcomed 12,000 visitors (+12% compared to 2019) representing over 60 countries, marking a record number of visitors, in addition to 300 exhibiting companies (+17% compared to 2019) representing 12 countries.
At the same time, the extensive calendar of conferences, round tables, workshops, and laboratories that form the IVS scientific programme will continue, proving over the years to be a space where change can be interpreted and the latest technological innovations can be explored, identifying, and analysing the challenges the sector is facing. And after the two-day exhibition, there will be a further opportunity for foreign delegations attending the fair to meet the players in the extended Oil & Gas supply chain on Friday 17th May.
The 2023 update of the IVS-Prometeia Observatory "The Oil & Gas Valve Industry in Italy" was also presented, which takes a snapshot of the state of the Italian sector (over 210 companies, 9,300 employees, and a turnover of 2.7 billion Euro), which confirms its European leadership with a 34.2% market share and continues to be on the world podium of the leading exporters. The area of Bergamo is at the heart of this chain of excellence: within a radius of 100 km from the province there is a district generating over 90% of national production.
The recovery of energy-related sectors following the pandemic has been long and gradual, and the Oil & Gas valve supply chain has been no exception. However, the pre-Covid levels have been recovered and the sector has started to grow again. Some participating exhibitors reported that the first half of 2023 saw a record growth, with an unprecedented flow of investment and confirmed by orders for 2024. Fuelling the positive outlook for the sector is the growth in investment by Oil & Gas companies, as well as a favourable raw material price, strong cash flows and the increasing strategic importance of energy security on the agendas of governments and companies.
