One of the UK’s leading suppliers of hardfaced components, AMB Co. Ltd, are delivering on their plans to drive the company forward. Following on from significant investment last year in people and machines, the Sheffield-based family engineering business has just purchased a Colchester Mastiff manual lathe to further increase capacity. The company has vast experience in producing pumps, valves, and associated components, providing largely to sectors such as oil and gas, power generation, marine, nuclear and defence, but the investment is not the only positive to take from the first half of another challenging year so far.
AMB Co. Ltd have also enrolled two employees on the highly coveted BVAA Future Leaders Programme for 2023. Both Liam Dawson and Reece Clarke form part of FLP Cohort 6 and are thoroughly enjoying their time on the programme. The firm’s Business Development Manager Andrew Wellwood, who recommended his colleagues for the programme, says:
“AMB Co. Ltd have been members almost two years now, and we’ve become heavily involved in many of the key dates in the BVAA calendar. What’s been clear to me is that it’s not only a fantastic arena for targeted business and building relationships, but the BVAA also provide many opportunities for learning and development. At the AGM last year, I thoroughly enjoyed hearing about Cohort 5’s journey and the impact FLP had on them. We’re keen to invest in our people just as much as our technology here at AMB, and straight away I thought of Liam and Reece. I’m confident that FLP will give both the tools to excel in their personal development, and hopefully benefit AMB Co. Ltd for many years to come!”
“We’re a small family company, but we’re ambitious, and have plans to grow the company. It’s a balancing act with doing what we need to do in the here and now, but also putting in the building blocks for the future, particularly in such a challenging environment we all find ourselves in. We’ve been in business for 85 years and we want to ensure we’re still here for at least another 85 years.
We’re forging new relationships in North and South America, and we’re making large strides in developing business in the Defence sector; we’ve got the new machine arriving this week and we’re currently looking to recruit skilled CNC machinists to enhance our manufacturing team.
Exciting times!”
