We are delighted to announce that BVAA’s renowned Safety Integrity Levels Course has recently been certified by the CPD Certification Service.

In addition to the course being adapted to the principles included in prEN17955 – the new standard being developed for Functional safety of safety-related valves and actuators – successful candidates will now also be issued with a CPD certificate in addition to the BVAA’s own.

What is accredited CPD Training?

There is an increasing expectation for professionals to undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD) regardless of industry sector. The CPD Certified Symbol is recognised in over 100+ countries and is a qualitative benchmark that reflects and sets those standards.

The BVAA is committed to delivering excellent, high-quality training, so that we consistently meet, and exceed, our delegates’ expectations.

This is why we submit our training course materials for formal review and impartial CPD accreditation. This external validation demonstrates the steps we have taken to deliver the highest possible training standards.

What is Safety Integrity Levels (SILs) Training?

This course is intended for valve and actuator manufacturers who are being asked to supply products with a Safety Integrity Level (SIL) capability.

It starts with a general overview of the whole subject before delving into the technical detail. Delegates will then understand where a ‘SIL’ comes from, the importance of clear safety requirements, design analysis, and quality assurance measures which are all required to meet the SIL.
