Oxford Flow doubles activity year-on-year and increases global headcount

Oxford Flow, the flow control equipment specialist, celebrates a successful end to 2023 which has seen the company double operational activity year-on-year, expand its global footprint and increase its headcount by around 10%.
The company has seen significant growth in the gas distribution and transmission market, especially in the UK. Oxford Flow proved the hydrogen readiness of its IM-S gas regulators through a range of stringent third-party tests, won contracts with major UK gas distribution networks (GDNs) including a partnership project with SGN on its LTS Futures project, and expanded its range of regulator pilots.
Faris Churcher was appointed Business Lead – Gas & Energy Transition at the turn of the year, which is a reflection of his work to date and his role in spearheading business growth and innovation for gas distribution and energy transition uses, as well as hydrogen, biofuels and LPG. Faris has played a significant role, alongside Oxford Flow’s inhouse engineering team, in designing, developing and qualifying its IM series gas regulators. Additionally, Matthew Lackie joined the company from SGN as Business Lead – Utility Gas/Field Operations Manager, to support projects in this market.
Interest in Oxford Flow’s ES stemless valve has witnessed significant growth, including commercialisation of the emissions eliminating control valve. The heightened focus and commitment to reducing methane emissions was echoed when the ES valve was awarded a commendation by ADNOC in its Decarbonization Challenge on the 4th of December, during COP 28.
Furthermore, the company has continued to expand its global presence. At the end of 2022, Dr. Chris Kennell took up the role of VP Sales – Americas, to lead the charge on the company’s goal to support operators in conventional energy, gas distribution and other sectors eliminate emissions from their operations. Thomas Blyth also joined as Business Development Director for the Americas to support ongoing expansion across both North and South American markets.
Oxford Flow has continued to support its global strategic partnerships with KOSO Kent Introl (KKI), which has included joint manufacturing of the IM-C top-entry gas regulator for the US market, and Georg Fisher (GF), its longstanding partner in water utility water markets.
Neil Poxon, CEO at Oxford Flow, commented: “As 2022 drew to a close, we finished the year feeling incredibly positive of the work that we had done, but also optimistic about the platform we had created for ourselves going into 2023. Our success and achievements during 2023 have surpassed those expectations in many ways and kept our growth on track with our strategic objectives.
“It is thanks to the talented and hardworking team here at Oxford Flow that we’ve elevated ourselves from a company passionate about developing new innovations, to a company that’s continuously expanding its global footprint, supporting more and more customers and making a significant contribution toward reducing emissions and supporting the energy transition.”
